Are there any restrictions on the POS software demo version?
No, the demo is a full working version. However, it will only run on one computer at a time.
How long is the free trial on the POS software demo?
The free trial is 30 days, after that you will have to purchase the bar and restaurant POS software to continue using it.
On the POS software demo what is the default password?
The default password is 1111. This should be changed, for security reasons, when you setup your own database.
Do I need any special hardware to run the POS software?
No, to use the bar POS software all you need is a computer, monitor and mouse. However, the software is specifically designed to work with any touchscreen computer, touchscreen monitor, cash drawer, credit card swiper and receipt printer.
Do I need any additional software to run the POS software?
No, the POS software contains all you need to get up and running. To run the music functionality of the bar POS software, all you need is Windows Media Player, which is available free from Microsoft.
What are the different price levels/station licenses?
All levels of the POS software come standard with ALL features. Price levels are determined based on the number of computer stations that will be connected to the database at one time. Once installed on a station, there is no limit to the number of servers that can be cashed in. Additional stations can be purchased initially or added later as your business grows.
Do I need to have a network to run the POS software?
No, to use the POS software on just one computer you do not need to have a network setup. However, if you are running multiple stations you will need to have them connected either wirelessly or with an ethernet cable based system.
Do I need to install the Server on all cash register stations?
No, the server portion of the POS software only needs to be installed on one computer on the network. You can install the server on any machine, however when sharing data you'll want all the stations to point to one computer designated as the database server. This can be selected on start up. Just select the computer and database name, from the choose database screen. Although the database server portion can be run from any computer on the network, it is recommended that you run it from a backoffice computer and not a waitstaff workstation.
I have multiple stations, how should I setup my network?
To setup a Windows network to be able to share the POS software database, you want to do a few things. First, make sure all computers are on the same workgroup. Second, setup all the computers with the same login name and password and make sure those accounts have administrative rights. Third, make sure you are not running any antivirus programs that would block your computers from seeing SQL Server on the shared database computer.
Is the POS software PCI compliant?
Yes. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a worldwide information security standard defined by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council. The standard was created to help payment card industry organizations that process card payments prevent credit card fraud through increased controls around data and its exposure to compromise. The standard applies to all organizations that hold, process, or exchange cardholder information from any card branded with the logo of one of the card brands.
Do I need to be online to run the POS software?
No, you do not need to be online to use the bar POS software. However, if you are using the credit card functionality, you will need some sort of internet connection. This connection can be anything at all including modem.
Does the POS software run credit cards?

Do I have to use your premier merchant account provider?
Our POS software works seamlessly with our premier merchant account provider for integrated credit card processing. However, you can use an external terminal with another provider. Our partnership with our merchant account provider, allows us to provide you with free tech support, the lowest price pos software, and free updates.
How do I get a merchant account setup with your premier provider?
Getting a merchant account is easy. Just click here and fill out the contact form and a merchant account support rep will contact you shortly. If you currently have a merchant account, our premier merchant account provider will usually match or beat your current rates.
I already have an existing credit card processor, what do I do?
We suggest you click here and contact our merchant provider. Show them a copy of your current rates and ask them to beat or at least match them. Signing up is free, there is no contract, and they are an excellent company to work with for processing. They will not charge you for any setup, and you will not be locked into any contract that you will have to buy your way out of if you are unhappy.
Can I use my own merchant account provider credit?
Yes, you can use your own merchant account. However, there are some integrated credit card features that you will not be able to take advantage of using. For example, pre-authorizations, terminal reporting, gift cards and auto-batching are only available through our premier merchant account provider. Additionally, you will have to run each transaction on your terminal, and then enter a transaction id and card type into the POS software manually.
Does the POS software handle gift cards?
Yes, through integrated processing with our premier merchant account provider you will be able to sell and redeem gift cards. You can even do this across multiple locations.
What Operating Systems does the POS software run on?
The POS software runs on all versions of Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows Vista. However, if you are going to setup a server that will have multiple stations connected to it, we do not support Window home editions. These versions are not licensed by Microsoft for data serving, and many user sharing features are disabled.
How does the POS software connection to QuickBooks® work?
Our POS software will export all financial data from the POS to QuickBooks®. This data includes sales, payments, payouts, refunds, and basically all money in and out of the POS. To do this you will need QuickBooks® installed on the computer that you are using export. The POS software works with all versions of QuickBooks®, except QuickBooks® POS.
